Paths to Motherhood Group Support
Congratulations! You're expecting!
Much of mothering is instinctive, and some is learned. All
expectant moms peel layers during the wait to reveal instincts
and important learning. During a pregnancy, this happens a day
at a time as a woman’s body insists she slow down, prepare for
transition.
The waiting period of the adoption process is cerebral, slow,
sometimes vexing. It can even distract us from the reality that
we will soon be parents. Completing dossiers and learning what
to pack are necessary steps, but prepare us only for getting our
children home, not really for having children. Our instincts and
understanding are strong, but we must uncover them
deliberately.
How do we do this?
We create heart open space with waiting moms to guide this
transformation. Rather than just presenting information, we grow
in our understanding of ourselves as mothers through sharing,
deep searching, and creative work. These tools can comfort and
strengthen us while we wait, and benefit our children when we
bring them home.
